Mr. Reimer on

Using the Internet

How Does one Determine the Accurate Stuff on the Internet?

The Internet has accurate, inaccurate, and downright misleading information.  When you work on a project (or just peruse stuff) you need to be able to determine the quality of the information you are accessing.  I found the article SEARCHin for an Answer  by Laurie A. Henry, published April 2006 in The Reading Teacher to be quite useful.  I cannot legally post it here, but you can find it by going to the Sussex County Library databases  and looking up the article using the EBSCO Host database.  Just use your library card to sign in.

Use the Internet with Care.

The Internet has both wonderful opportunities available, but also needs to be used with care.  An excellent program describing how teens need to act responsibly was broadcast on PBS.  Frontline produced an episode entitled, “Growing Up Online”.  This can be viewed online, at
