General Information

Glen Meadow’s seventh- and eighth-grade field hockey team will begin practices on or about the first week of school.  Physicals, which are done by the athlete’s own personal physician, must be completed on the school physical form in order to practice.  Physical forms are available in the main office.


Practices are held from 3-4:15.  Monday and Friday practices require parent pickup; activity buses are available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   Students who plan to take the activity bus home after school must sign up in homeroom.

Bus transportation is provided to and from away games.  All games begin at 3:45, unless otherwise stated, with the varsity game played first.

Shinguards and mouthguards are mandatory.  Rubber cleats are recommended.  Most field hockey players buy their own sticks, but we have sticks available for those athletes who do not have their own.  Please bring a water bottle to practice—water and Gatorade are both available after school in the cafeteria via vending machines.


For a $10 membership fee, athletes are encouraged to join the United States Field Hockey Association (USFHA).  Membership entitles them to participate in some of the clinics and tournaments that are offered outside of school.  Members receive Field Hockey News magazine.  Membership applications can be accessed by going to www.usfieldhockey.com.
